OPENING FALL 2010

To pursue the goals of classical education does not excuse us from satisfying the minimal standards set by state education laws or to pretend that terrible test scores is the results of superior education!  CLAA students are expected to complete standardized tests annually and we are happy to coordinate that testing.

WHAT WE DO

The CLAA is known for making life easier, and our testing services are one of the ways  in which we do that.

Before Testing
1.  We stock all required testing materials for use throughout the year.
2.  We coordinate annual testing administrations to make your children's testing convenient and routine.
3.  We provide a test prep book and test prep support before the testing period.
4.  We deliver your testing materials in time for your Spring testing.  You do not have to worry about deadlines or ordering testing materials.

During Testing
5.  We provide detailed instructions for successful testing and support during test week.
6.  We provide pre-paid return envelopes for simple returns after testing.

After Testing

7.  We score the tests ourselves, allowing for inexpensive score reports within one week of testing.
8.  We provide detailed score reports and maintain records of yearly scores.

One simple enrollment and testing is taken care of.  It doesn't get any easier than that!

2011 TESTING SCHEDULE

To help promote structure in your home school calendar, the CLAA conducts an annual administration of the California Achievement Test (CAT/5) in March.  We provide complete testing services--including scoring and reporting.  We also maintain records of test scores for all CLAA families.

Date Event
Feb. 1 Deadline for testing enrollment.
Feb. 1 Test prep books sent to families.
Feb./Mar. Test preparation.
Mar. 1 Testing materials sent to families.
Mid-Mar. Families administer tests.
April 1 Families return tests to CLAA
May/June CLAA delivers scores to families.

CLAA TEST PREP

Enrollment in the CLAA's annual testing program includes a grade-level copy of the Spectrum Test Prep series.  We recommend that CLAA families spend the month of February working through these workbooks to cover the basic content of modern study programs that is probably not covered in CLAA studies.  CLAA students can pick up all that is needed in no time.

Plus, enjoy the support of the CLAA community as you work through test preparation for your children on the CLAA Family Forum.

COMING IN 2011

Beginning in 2011, the CLAA will be offering a complete in-house test preparation program for all standardized tests.  This program will ensure that CLAA students are thoroughly prepared for all testing required of them by state regulations and/or college admissions.  Program details will be available in the Summer 2010.
