The Classical Liberal Arts Academy is a privately-owned organization dedicated to the research, restoration, publication and teaching of the classical liberal arts.  Our focus is the classical liberal arts, which are ancient and were studied and taught before the Christian era and are the common property of all men, for which reason they are called the "humanities".  

 

The program is directed by William Michael, who founded the work in 2008 after a decade of highly successful classroom instruction in preparatory schools in NJ, PA and NC.  Mr. Michael lives with his wife Dania and their nine children on a 60 acre working farm in rural NC.

 

While the people involved in the work of the the Classical Liberal Arts Academy are, for the most part, members of the Roman Catholic Church, the organization is not affiliated in any way with the Roman Catholic Church and does not intend to be so.  The religious study materials and services we provide are merely efforts to organize and make more accessible to our friends the resources that have been published by Christian teachers throughout history and are not limited to Catholic sources.  We respect the contributions that have been made to the development of western civilization by many different groups and Christian denominations.
