DISTANCE LEARNING

For families interested in studying from home, or for schools looking for an affordable alternative to modern study programs, we offer classical liberal arts education through our online distance learning program.  The distance learning program gives students the opportunity to receive the finest classical Christian instruction available in a way that is very affordable and easy to manage.  This allows the classical liberal arts to be studied with expert instruction anywhere in the world.

HOW IT WORKS

1.  Enrollment
Students are enrolled following the instructions on the right under "How to Enroll".

2.  Family & StudentActivation
After your enrollment has been received and approved, our system generates an Online Family Center and Student pages for your family.  These pages provide you and your children with a single place where all of your studies can be conveniently managed.  All school tasks are handled from these pages.

3.  Lesson Delivery
Students receive lessons online that provide all necessary instruction and assignments to be completed.  Assignments include memory work, readings and online exercises (depending on the subject).  Instructors are available during normal school hours and in the evening in case any questions or difficulties arise.  Parents are not expected to do lesson planning, teaching or grading.  We do it all.

4. Lesson Assessment
When all assigned work for a lesson is completed, the student completes an online examination that carefully checks for mastery.  Online examinations are scored automatically online.  If a student does not pass, they review their lesson and try again later.  If after several tries, the student finds that he cannot seem to get past a question or two, he contacts the instructor who has access to his answers and can find where he is struggling.  In this way the CLAA ensures that  every student understands every concept before moving to a new lesson.

5.  Lesson Promotion
When the student passes his lesson examination, the unit is credited to the student and a new lesson is added to the student's home page.    In this way, the Academy ensures that students move on only when they have demonstrated mastery of the current lesson.  New lessons are normally updated within 24 hours, but the CLAA often assigns review work for students to ensure that mastery of past material is retained.

6.  Progress Reports
Parents may view and print progress reports for their children from their Family Center at no cost.  Reports are available for the quarter, semester, year or any date range the parent enters.  Again, we do all the record-keeping and it's available with just a click.

CLAA BENEFITS

1.  Affordability
CLAA distance learning is very affordable, compared to private instruction or other programs.  We've seen distance learning programs charging over $1,000 for a single course!  The affordability of our program and the ability to work from home make this a very convenient way to complete these important studies.  Financial aid is available for all families in need.

2.  Flexibility
Distance learning courses may be started at any time during the year and may be completed at whatever pace parents judge to be best for their children.  Your family's schedule is the school schedule, not vice-versa.  We will provide accountability on a time-table determined by the student under the direction of his/her parents.

3.  Stability
As modern schools fail, families are struggling to provide their children with the best education possible--but this often results in confusion and instability, which are enemies of learning.  The Classical Liberal Arts Academy provides the stability that other programs cannot.

4.  Convenience
With distance learning, there is no need to drive to class meetings or manage loads of book orders every year.  Parents do not need to plan lessons or grade student work.  We do just about everything.

5.  Expert Instruction & Assessment
Students and parents always have access to their children's instructor rather than a customer service rep who is removed from the actual lessons being studied.  You can always be sure that your children are receiving expert instruction and fair assessment and that same expert help is only a call, chat or e-mail away.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

"I am not an Athenian or a Greek,
but a citizen of the world."
 -Socrates

Through our distance learning program, students can receive a classical liberal arts education anywhere in the world--not only in the United States. This is a great option not only for families abroad, but also missionaries and mission schools.  Contact us for more information.

HOW TO ENROLL

Getting started is easy.  Simply complete and submit an  Online Enrollment Form.  We will review your information, making sure that your family meets our admissions requirements and that you are enrolling in the right courses.  Once your enrollment is approved you will receive a welcome letter instructing you how to begin studies.  The entire process normally takes less than 24 hours.

GET A HEAD START

We recommend that new families start with one course for each child--usually Catechism.  In a week, parents and students will understand how everything works and be able to determine when more courses should be added.  Courses can be added at any time, so there's no enrollment deadline.

COSTS

Enrollment/course:

$125.00

Courses in the CLAA cost $125.00 each.  This includes all of the online materials, record-keeping, assessment and support.

1.  Enrollment fee is per student, per course.   Ex.: One student enrolling in three courses pays $375.00.

2.  Sales tax (6.75%) applies for enrollments in NC.
3.  The CLAA uses no throw-away study materials, workbooks, etc.. Most courses require no books at all and those that do require one or two classic texts that will form part of a student's permanent library.  See the CLAA Bookshop for more info.

FINANCIAL AID

While our prices are easily affordable for most families, we know that there are families who need financial assistance and we are happy
to help.

1.  No-Fee Payment Plan
One of the greatest sources of loss to needy families is credit card interest.  The CLAA offers 3, 6 and 10-month payment plans that charge no interest or additional fees.

2.  Need-Based Discounts
If your family needs help affording CLAA courses simply let us know.  We work with families individually to determine what the needs are and how they can be handled.  Money cannot keep you out of the CLAA.

Note:  The CLAA does not offer a "multiple child discount" because wealthy families do not need financial assistance simply because they have multiple children.    Our financial aid is offered to families with financial needs as a matter of justice and charity.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

We receive enthusiastic feedback on a daily basis from around the world.  Our support is praised for its promptness and expertise.  Our courses are commended for their rigor and clarity.  Our online resources are praised for their ease of use and quality.  Some say it's all too good to be true!

We are confident that our program and services are quite good--and we're constantly making them better.  Nevertheless, when you enroll in the Classical Liberal Arts Academy, your satisfaction is guaranteed.  If, within 60 days of enrollment, you find our program to be less than satisfying, we will refund your enrollment.
