The Classical Liberal Arts Academy offers
flexible and affordable study programs for families around the world.
Enrollment is controlled to ensure that our
Admission Requirements are
met by all prospective students.
While we do not offer study programs based on age or grade level, it may be helpful
to consider how the CLAA serves students entering at various stages with
different goals.
I. PETTY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Young children who are not yet
ready to begin Catechism, Grammar and Arithmetic should begin in the
CLAA Petty School. This is the classical equivalent of pre-school
for students whose parents intend for them to study the classical
liberal art with the CLAA.

Example
Mary is 4 years old whose
parents plan to enroll her in the CLAA, but she is not yet able to read
or write. Mary would be enrolled as an Academy
Student.
II. ACADEMY STUDENTS
Families seeking to provide
their children with a complete classical liberal arts education
must get an early start. The CLAA Standard program provides the
full course of instruction to students who diligently study throughout
their school years.
Example
David is 8 years old and will be
home-schooled by his parents. His parents intend for him to study
through the CLAA for the next 10 years and complete the full classical
liberal arts program. David would be enrolled as an Academy
Student.
III. EXTERN STUDENTS
Students studying in another
school or study program but interested in individual courses may
enroll in our Extern Program. Extern students are not
considered Academy students, but receive whatever
instruction and benefits as apply to the course(s) in which they are
enrolled. Extern students receive documentation for each
course completed, but will not be recognized as graduates of the Classical
Liberal Arts Academy.
Example
Peter is 16 years old Catholic school
student whose parents would like to him to study classical Rhetoric
through the CLAA. Peter would enroll as an extern student. |
